2021 Community Excellence Award Recipient

Lasheyl Stroud is a licensed attorney of nearly two decades. She was served as an appointed judicial officer, Magistrate, for seven years. She was the first African American and first Woman to serve as the Lead Juvenile Magistrate. In November 2020, she was elected Judge in Domestic Relations & Juvenile Court. Prior to her 2013 appointment as Magistrate, she practiced in both the public and private sectors. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Kentucky State University. Lasheyl has overcome tremendous obstacles without wavering in her faith or her commitment to public service. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She serves as a mentor and volunteer in her community and is an active member of New Covenant Believers' Church. She is a Breast Cancer Survivor and a champion of change.
